Day 8: Knysna: Optional Activities: Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, Bloukrans Bungy Jumping, Etc

Day 8 Day 8: Knysna: Optional Activities: Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, Bloukrans Bungy Jumping, Etc

After breakfast at the hotel, full day will be at leisure to participate in various optional activities. The vehicle with driver/guide will be at your disposal. The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. Many of the platforms are built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are up to 700 years old! Standing within the crown of these giants and looking down at the lush forest floor thirty metres below is an experience of a lifetime. The Canopy Tour starts with a safety briefing at the canopy office. Here your guides will first demonstrate how to slide on the cables and the safety procedures to be followed on the tour, before kitting you up with full body harness, pulley, climbing equipment and safety helmet. You will then be transported in an open vehicle to the start of the canopy tour. From the moment you launch off the first platform, a new world unfolds as you slide on a steel cable across to the next viewpoint. Once you arrive at the platform we encourage you to stop for a while and enjoy the view while your guide points out interesting features or facts about the surrounding ecology. All groups are escorted by a lead guide and safety guide at all times. Your safety is paramount and we have strict procedures in place to ensure that you are constantly connected to either the cable or the platform. Each tour lasts typically 2½ hours and upon returning to the office, you will enjoy a well-deserved meal and refreshments. The Bloukrans Bungy Jumping: It is the world’s highest commercial bungy bridge. It is also the highest commercial natural bungy jump in the world. It has played host to the likes of Prince Harry, Jack Osborne, Thabo Mbeki, The Zuma family, Bobby Skinstad, Hansie Cronje, Fanie De Villiers, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, The Amazing Race, and many more famous and not so famous visitors - you never know who you could meet on any given day at Bloukrans, the world’s highest bungy bridge! Quad Bike Adventures: Our tours range from an introductory route through beautiful valleys with incredible vistas of the Garden Route to Overnight Adventure Expeditions where we camp in the wild and wind through narrow Mountain Passes. Only five minutes from George in the Garden Route you can experience the thrill of driving your own quad through beautiful scenery while having the adventure of a lifetime. Whale & Dolphin Watching: Situated in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay, Ocean Blue offers a rare and powerful experience through permitted boat based whale & dolphin encounters. We also offer an “at one with the ocean” kayaking tour, and township tours. All tours are guided with expert crew and tour operators who are internationally qualified. Ocean Blue is a licensed SABBWWA permit holder, which enables us to approach whales from 50 metres instead of 300 metres. Should the whales approach our vessel we do not have to move away. The guests therefore get an up close experience with these majestic mammals in the bay. Return to your hotel and overnight at hotel (B)
